TRAINAWAY - The Beginning
TRAINAWAY - The Beginning
Hello fellow train-spotters, and welcome to the beginning of the official Trainaway blog. Here, you will have exclusive access to Drafts, Final Renders, Soundtracks, Behind-the-Scenes footage, and much, much more.
Although a lot (none) of you were expecting it, sadly we must announce that Trainaway's release has been delayed to 2025. This is due to a number of factors:
Script Revisions and Development: Ever since the first draft for the script of Trainaway was written back in 2016, there have been some huge changes to it, including character development, a whole lot of dialogue, major and minor plot points, and filling in those plot-holes we all so desperately want filled in. But, do not fear! You will still get all the drafts and edits of the script, as well as a 4 hour long video explaining all the changes, read by my major assistant Chris Parsons!
Casting Issues: Ever since production started we have had difficulty securing the right cast, and changes in casting decisions have also delayed production. This is due to scheduling conflicts, unexpected departures, and general negotiations. This decision might come as a surprise to many of you, but Chris, Jack, JPB, and I are all starring in the film! This may be because we couldn't find anyone to fill the roles, or it may be because we all just want to star in our own films. Choose one. Or both.
General Technical Issues: As many of you may know, this film is very VFX heavy and packed with CGI and practical effects. Although our budget cuts did not effect this (all our VFX was funded privately)
we still have had issues with software and advanced equipment being shipped to our studios. (Unlucky, I know!) The good news is: THE MOTION-TRACK CAMERA IS HERE!!!! That's right! We have the [NAME REDACTED] Yeah, apparently our lawyers told us we cannot name any technology used in the film until release. So you're going to see a lot of [NAME REDACTED] going around.
Safety on Set: Although filming has not yet started, we are planning everything months and months in advance. And one of those things is safety. We must make sure that during all our stunts, pyrotechnics effects, explosions, and train crashes, that everyone on set is completely safe and not at risk. Due to this, we have had MAJOR planning sessions with almost the whole cast and crew (in our business room, we all sat at a long table. It was so formal!) In all seriousness though, we have to work on general safety on set, as that was something we MASSIVELY overlooked during pre-production.
And finally, the most boring reason:
Legal Issues: Yes, the production of this film has taken a real beating. Since the beginning of the creation of this film, we've had legal disputes, copyright challenges, and many many other legal hurdles that have disrupted production and require a fair amount of time to be resolved before we can continue moving forward. We won't go into too much detail (we don't want to bore you, also we had to sign an NDA) but put simply, it's pretty much settled now.
This is the first post in the official Trainaway blog, and we hoped you enjoyed it! It is completely free (this is usually the stuff you'd find on Patreon!) and courtesy of me, Grababana, the creator of Trainaway. I truly hope you've found this interesting!
